Mondrian Los Angeles – Hotel Review

Mondrian Los Angeles – Hotel Review

With its minimalist design and refresh by award-winning design agency, Dawson Design Associates (DDA), the Mondrian LA is a hotel that is all about luxury and elegance. It’s situated among the best restaurants and nightlife of the Sunset Strip and is the perfect spot to explore West Hollywood.

When you enter the hotel through the 30-foot high mahogany front doors, you are immediately transformed into someplace extraordinary. The lobby is a surreal and breathtaking view with translucent curtains, glass walls that glow, and an incredible Indoor/Outdoor Lobby that magically transports the outside in.

With 236 exquisite redesigned rooms, each offers a distinctive decor with dramatic views from the floor-to-ceiling windows of the city, the Hollywood Hills or the infinity pool. The oversized bathrooms have everything from a rainfall shower, luxury flooring, and designer bath products.

Nothing will beat sitting on a teak chaise in the West Hollywood sunshine surrounded with beautiful flowers, greenery, and vines, next to an incredible pool. The view of the pool alone will help you unwind; however, underwater music is the most soothing.

Skybar at Mondrian Los Angeles is an open-air lounge where celebrity DJs pump the best music, and the twinkling metal lanterns make the pool glow. With Hollywood’s hottest stars, it makes the Skybar one of LA’s most sought after party spots, making it very difficult to get in the doors…unless you are a hotel guest. As a guest of the hotel, you are guaranteed entrance into the Skybar to party with Hollywood’s elite.

Its famous Sunset Boulevard address is surrounded by things to do that you can’t get in any other city, especially when the Comedy Store is across the street. The Comedy Store has live shows on three stages, something for everyone. Sunset Plaza has over 40 designer boutiques and restaurants are only a 10-minute walk from the hotel. If live music venues are your thing, then you can’t get any better than the legendary Whiskey a Go-Go and the Viper Room, both only a 15-minute walk away. A quick 15-minute drive gets you to Hollywood, and 30-minutes away is the famous beaches of Santa Monica.

With famous guests like Madonna, Leo DiCaprio, Brittney Spears, Tom Cruise, and George Clooney, the Mondrian captures the perfect California lifestyle with a love of nature, the outdoors, and glamour.

In addition to Skybar, the Mondrian is also home to Ivory on Sunset.

The restaurant was inspired by Hollywood’s golden age with majestic lighting and comfortable, luxurious furniture. Guests enter the 7,500-square-foot restaurant through patio doors that are surrounded by an incredible panoramic view of the city. The dining room is drenched in traditional, elegant furniture, the lounge with its comfortable seating, and a grand piano finishes off the decor with elegance and grace.

The menu is Italian-inspired cuisine made with only the freshest farm-sourced ingredients. Start off your meal with House Bread focaccia, ciabatta, parmesan grissini, and Warm Olives in citrus oil. Then move on to the halibut, duck, chicken, or the short rib and Brussels.

In the bar, you have your choice of signature cocktails, including the famous mezcal, the house-made black mission fig jam, and the Achilles Peel with blackberry and blueberry infused vodka. They also have an extensive beer and wine list.

If you’re looking to spend some quality time in West Hollywood, Mondrian should be on top of your list!
