In response to the pandemic, last week, President and CEO DPA Group Nathalie Dubois held her first ever ‘Pre-Golden Globes Luxe Drive-Up Event’ at the upscale Luxe Hotel on Sunset. Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines, Dubois and her small team distributed 125 gift bags to nominees, presenters, media and first responders over two days.

Stars who drove up to collect their swag or were hand delivered the bags included Andra Day (best actress winner – United States vs. Billie Holiday), Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy and Daniel Levy (winners – Schitt’s Creek), Viola Davis, presenter Angela Bassett, Tom Hanks, Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone, Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead), Héctor Elizondo (Last Man Standing), Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant), and many others.

About her decision to pivot this year, Dubois comments, “The drive-in idea came as a natural, as I wanted everybody to stay safe, but still to have fun the week of the Golden Globes.”

First Responders
She adds, “Since the beginning of the pandemic, I wanted to give back to these first responders and so, we decided to incorporate some of them into our event. We asked one hospital to choose ten people in their COVID-19 department to thank them for their hard work.”
The by invitation only event welcomed guests to drive up to the hotel to be presented with their luxury gift bags featuring 34 of the top new brands in the fashion, beauty, lifestyle, technology and food and beverage categories.
Dubois adds, “I am very proud of these gift bags, and of each of these companies. We have remarkable products and super innovative ones like the $149 Active+ Bluetooth mask from AirPop, and also for selected guests a trip to Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts in French Polynesia or Soori Bali Hotel in Bali. It should give all our nominees some good vibes and the hope of a return to normalcy soon.”
Brands represented in the gift bags included Active Kids 2.0, AirPop, Asea, Autumn Brands, Buttery Popcorn, Candy Depot, Carvery Kitchen, Chipz Happen, Claymonics, Connect with Keao, Cool Ass Black Woman, FanVestor, Fazup, Fine by Amy Lea Murphy, Geek Eyewear, Good Dee’s, Klipsta, K9s Only, Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts, Luxe Hotels, Luxie Beauty, My Bougie Bottle, Maeva Wellness, Maine Island Soaps, Mantra Mask, New England Hemp Farm, Shhh!…It’s a Secret!, Sip Responsibly, Skirt My Pump, Social Sparkling Wine, Soori Bali, Tahiti Tourism, Ten One Rum, Topo Chico, and Truth In Hand.
A veteran in the production of star-studded events, Dubois has proven herself to be exceptionally innovative and successful in the realm of celebrity gift suites. Originally from France, Dubois attributes her success in part to her world travels and the exotic cultural influences of the products she picks for her unique gift suites. In non-pandemic times, DPA organizes luxury gifting suites in Los Angeles surrounding awards season, as well as during the world’s premier film festivals, including Cannes, Venice and Toronto.
DPA opened its first Asian office in Tokyo in 2017 and is in the planning stages of its first suite in Japan during the upcoming Olympic Games.
Physical in-person gift suites will resume, if permitted, during the week of the Oscars in Los Angeles on April 22 and 23, 2021 and in France for the Cannes Film Festival in July 2021.
