As summer quickly approaches, we want to get our figures into the best shape possible. With so many options around these days, such as CoolSculpting and Liposuction, which are often expensive and painful, today, there are other new technologies available that can do the trick.

GOTHAMOLOGY recently chatted with Kelly Howard, co-founder of Body Contouring & More, about the innovative new treatments available that are relatively pain-free and affordable. Howard, along with partner Coraima Perez, has locations in Beverly Hills, San Diego and Riverside County, and soon will open in Orange County.
How did you get into the “body sculpting/contouring” business?
I have a passion and heart for women, young women in particular, and felt that this was a great platform to be able to help them feel good about the skin they are in.
What makes body sculpting/contouring different from other treatments, such as for example, CoolSculpting?
These are non-invasive, painless procedures. In most cases, you will see immediate inch loss and tightening with just one treatment. All of our treatments are very relaxing and “spa like”. Ultrasound cavitation removes localized areas of unwanted fat, with minimal discomfort or downtime, and uses low frequency sound waves to burst fat cells.
Are the treatments safe?
Yes, they are safe, non-surgical procedures that are non-invasive, with no cutting, scars or downtime. Due to specific ultrasound parameters of energy levels, the procedures targets fat cells only and do not interfere with other body organs. There have been no reports of side effects of these treatments. Some people may experience dry mouth and nausea immediately after treatment, however by simply drinking water, these side effects are quickly resolved.
** Individuals with acute or contagious diseases, HIV, history of cancer, kidney failure, liver failure, pacemakers or electric prostheses, epilepsy or MS should NOT undergo these procedures.
How long do the results last?
The results are long-lasting and permanent, so as long as the client continues to lead a healthy diet, exercises and consumes adequate water, the results will remain.
How much maintenance is required once one reaches her/his ‘goal’?
Ultrasound cavitation and radio frequency (skin tightening) is recommended for six to 12 sessions spaced out at least three days or once a week apart. Maintenance treatments consist of one session monthly for at least four months, or as desired.
What is your most popular procedure at the moment?
The BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) that uses vacuum therapy to lift and plump the buttocks, and radio frequency for skin tightening.
What is the best treatment for cellulite specifically?
For best results, we recommend a combination of ultrasound cavitation to break down the fat cells, followed by radio frequency to tighten the skin and melt the fat, and lastly, vacuum therapy to target and treat the cellulite, to give you a much smoother look.

Are there any new procedures or technologies being incorporated into your practice?
We continue to stay abreast to the every changing technology and the needs and wants of our clients.
