If you’re looking for a new twist this Valentine’s Day, I encourage you to look at Valentine’s the Austrian way. Austria, officially the Republic of Austria, is an East Alpine country located in the southern part of Central Europe. It’s known for its mountains, deep history in art, architecture, music, food and spirits. I don’t think there would have been a Baroque period without all that Austria gave to the world. Austria is the birthplace of Mozart and continues to be a trendsetting place for all things culture.
I enjoyed taking part in a beautiful tasting and cocktail party sponsored by Marussia Beverages, USA.
This virtual cocktail party event was hosted by Sarah Tracey, a certified sommelier, entertaining expert and wine educator. She walked us through some delicious Austrian wines with help from an expert and International Sales Director, Holger Huegelsberger from Schlumberger Sparkling Wines and Mozart Liqueurs. We had a mixology lesson on how to make several cocktails and enjoyed some history and education on traditions.
We were treated to both Schlumberger Brut and Brut Rose’ wines. These delicious wines did not disappoint. These are wines I would have in my refrigerator no matter what time of year it is.
Delicate, fresh fruit aromas. Well balanced and harmonious. Bright yeasty notes, full-bodied and elegant. Hint of lemon peel, lime & apple on the nose. Retail approximately $29.99 per 750mL bottle.
Schlumberger Brut Rosé:
Fine notes of delicate red berries of the forest. Strong mousseux. Aromas full of finesse, smooth and velvet finish. Retail approximately $29.99 per 750mL bottle.
Next up we were guided through a mixology session making some gorgeous and delicious Valentine inspired cocktails with Mozart Chocolate and Strawberry Liqueurs.
Mozart Dark Chocolate Liqueur:
Smoky herbal notes of cocoa beans in a dark chocolate drink with vanilla, caramel, and a hint of toffee with very fluid feel. Retail approximately $26.99 per 750mL bottle.
Mozart White Chocolate Cream Strawberry Liqueur:
Fruity strawberry flavor in creamy white chocolate liqueur with notes of vanilla with creamy, light texture.
Retail approximately $26.99 per 750mL bottle.
