‘Whoa, the future is here!’ is how people usually react after visiting the Brooklyn Dumpling Shop for the first time. Founded by Stratis Morfogen, This brand new, fully automated, 24-hour operational dumpling paradise is the latest addition to the list of New York City’s most high-tech QSRs (quick-service restaurants).
Located on St. Mark’s Place in Manhattan’s East Village, BDS offers you 32 finger-licking flavors of sizzling hot dumplings. The whole concept is designed to be wholly contactless and touch-free, offering the highest level of safety and convenience to both its customers and staff members.
The innovative technology behind this super organized, grab-and-go restaurant is called Automat. This system ensures the highest level of safety and hygiene. It keeps the food piping hot, and the drinks flawlessly chilled, owing to its capability of regulating the temperature for every locker.
Here’s how this works –
You need to place your order via the restaurant’s touchless POS kiosks, or you can order online from your phone. As soon as your order is ready, you will get a notification to receive the delivery from a specific locker, which will open only after scanning the barcode of your order. Different colored lights denote different temperatures – red means super hot, blue is for chilled drinks, and auburn denotes room temperature.
The entire system is devoid of any human interaction, and the best part is, you can watch your dumplings being prepared by the sophisticated machines through the glass windows located in the front.
What’s the point of all the modernistic technologies if the food isn’t as fabulous as it should be, right? Many quick-service restaurants in NYC are pretty popular for their excellent service and futuristic approach. Still, to be honest, they miss the mark entirely regarding food quality. But that’s simply not the case with Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, fortunately.
Dumplings served here are always fresh & hot, and the sheer variety of flavors makes everything so much more fun! The most recommended ones include – Lamb Gyro Tzaziki, Philly Cheesesteak, Matzo Ball Soup Dumplings, French Onion Soup, Garlic Alaskan King Crab, and Chicken-Parm Dumplings.
Besides the usual ones or the predictable ones, there are some completely unique combinations (read crazy) such as – Peanut Butter & Jelly, The Reuben, Philly Cheesesteak, and various desserts such as dumplings in flavors like Apple, Warm Nutella, Dark Melted Chocolate, and Spicy Pear.
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop doesn’t just serve dumplings and desserts. You can order spring rolls, coffee, ice tea, and various beers and wines as well. In fact, they have their own red velvet and lychee wines. Both are totally amazing!
Since this technology is so unique, quick, user-friendly, and efficient, you’ll probably see more than 500 units of it being used worldwide in the next five years. Brooklyn Dumpling Station will be on every train station, shopping center, mall, and airport in the country.
This dumpling shop will revolutionize the world of quick-service restaurants in the coming few years. But are we complaining? Absolutely not!
