On the dinner menu is roast duck with tamarind jus or the halibut with Peking duck broth. Among the hustle and bustle of the Los Angeles neighborhood district, Century City, where condos, offices, and hotels abound, this restaurant is a much-needed oasis from the business of city life.

With diverse offerings ranging from safe to adventurous, there is no shortage when it comes to variety. Everything on the menu, from the sweet yellowtail with passion fruit and raw fish to the classic salmon or a chicken sandwich with gem slaw, is curated to match the diversity of palates that are drawn to the LA food scene.

They also have uniquely prepared salads such as the grain salad with quinoa and strawberries. Or the chopped salad with salami and chickpeas.  Happy hour, or the Early Bird Special, has the okonomiyaki burger. This gargantuan burger is piled high with hot peppers, sharp cheddar and tonkatsu sauce served on a honey potato.

Known for their creative desserts, the honey mochi with a honeycomb and bee pollen is a must have. If you want something more decadent, try the s’more with graham cracker streusel, chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, and marshmallows. Always putting an unexpected spin classic treats, their ice cream sandwiches even have espresso ice cream.

Some of their more notable and intriguing cocktails include ingredients like those of the Century. This drink features washed duck fat in rye. Son of a Bee Sting is a lighter cocktail that includes gin, ginger, lemon and rose water. On the savory side, the Gordita, has tequila, cucumber, Fresno chili, and lime.

With its low-key elegance, the Hinoki & The Bird strikes the perfect balance of rich, hearty foods and a light atmosphere to craft a truly unique dining experience.
