The latest masterpiece from director Ramez Silyna just dropped and it does not disappoint. Yet another gorgeous cinematic story telling journey. Once again teaming up with LA’s The Neighbourhood for their new album, Chip Chrome & Mono-Tones and includes the bonus track and new single and video “Stargazing” that Silyna directed.
Ramez Silyan, a first-generation Syrian-American, is also well known for directing the Lil Peep Documentary Everybody’s Everything that debuted at SXSW in 2019. In it, we see frontman Jesse Rutherford assume the Chrome character, and travel from home to home as if on tour, seeking a receptive party. In his travels, he encounters Jaden Smith, Lana Del Rey, Mac DeMarco, Blake Griffin, and Benny Blanco, not to mention his co-star Devon Lee Carlson. This video is Silyan’s companion piece to the video for “Pretty Boy”, also directed by Silyan, which establishes the Chrome character as a desperate peddler, a literal shiny object, hoping to catch someone’s attention.
Silyan’s profile as a director is on the rise recently being interviewed on NY Times Podcast and is currently working on a feature with cast members of the acclaimed Euphoria.
The Neighbourhood is an American indie rock band formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011. The band is composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Alexander Fried.
